Isle of Skye, Scotland

The inner Hebridean islands in the north-west of Scotland are without doubt very special, almost magical places, inhabited by humans since thousands of years. Amnong those islands, the Isle of Skye provides particularly spectacular, even mythical landscapes which seem as if they were forgotten by time. Scenic rivers, mountains and marshes, ridges, beaches and spacious field invite hikers to freely roam, explore and admire the harsh and sometimes unforgiving nature. I am happy that I took up this invitation in 2013, when I trekked along the Skye Trail for eight days across the Isle of Skye. Obviously, my camera was always with me. I hope you enjoy the impressions below, and I hope you get a feeling for this characterful place.
